Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den betting is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that features a number of conveniences accompanying the gambling hall, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
