Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect area, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of many borders.
The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge casino, features 150 slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel building that highlights numerous luxuries in addition to the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
