Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where casino gaming is illegal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship casino, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel building that contains many amenities in addition to the casino, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
